Responsibilities
- Expand and maintain high-throughput internationalization and localization workflows, Translation Management System integrations, ICU/CLDR formatters, and dynamic locale switching.
- Own and modernize Box’s core frontend platform and UI design system, including styling isolation and design-token theming.
- Integrate AI tools, coding agents, LLM-assisted migration workflows, codemods, AI skills, and intelligent developer assistants.
- Guide the evolution of frontend monorepos, build pipelines, package management, and automated development workflows.
- Partner with product management, UX design systems, architecture groups, and cross-functional product teams on multi-quarter initiatives.
- Mentor engineers, participate in architectural reviews, write technical specifications, and promote technical excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production-grade web applications, component libraries, or frontend platform infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, AI developer assistants, intelligent pipelines, evaluation harnesses, or context-aware AI integrations.
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript ESNext, and React, including modern React patterns.
- Strong understanding of CSS Modules, design tokens, CSS variables/custom properties, CSS isolation and scoping strategies, and animation patterns.
- Experience with monorepos, module bundling, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong focus on web accessibility, WCAG 2.1 AA, cross-browser compatibility, web performance vitals, and automated testing.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs, write architectural specifications, and build consensus.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with FormatJS, react-intl, i18next, CLDR/ICU standards, bidirectional or RTL layouts, Translation Management System synchronization, Module Federation, decoupled web runtimes, client-side event tracking, product analytics, or Real User Monitoring.
