Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Adyen’s distributed, high-performance payment platform.
- Develop global integrations with payment methods, card schemes, and external APIs.
- Build portal features, merchant-facing APIs, UIs, and automation capabilities.
- Own functionality from initial design through production deployment.
- Improve platform robustness, scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Review code and collaborate across teams and time zones.
Requirements
- Experience with Java, web services, REST APIs, and SQL/PostgreSQL.
- Experience building and deploying high-throughput, highly reliable services.
- Ability to own technical and product quality and evaluate tradeoffs involving speed and technical debt.
- Strong communication skills, including explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative, proactive approach with a willingness to seek diverse perspectives.
- Nice-to-have experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Elasticsearch.
