Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient, and high-performance applications and services for the Learning platform.
  • Lead the design and implementation of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Modernize large-scale monolithic applications into scalable microservices.
  • Build AI-powered product capabilities and intelligent automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, designers, and engineers on customer-facing solutions.
  • Drive technical design discussions and contribute to platform architecture decisions.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Use Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies to improve scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across distributed environments.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentoring, technical documentation, technology evaluation, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale SaaS or cloud-native applications.
  • Strong Ruby and Ruby on Rails proficiency, or equivalent experience with C#, Java, Go, or Python and the ability to learn Ruby.
  • Experience building Ruby on Rails applications, APIs, background processing, scalable services, and performance optimizations.
  • Deep expertise in system design and software architecture, including microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and API design.
  • Experience designing highly scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Kubernetes, Docker, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and AI-driven approaches to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
  • Strong SQL and NoSQL database, data modeling, and application performance optimization expertise.
  • Experience working effectively in globally distributed engineering teams.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, RSpec, Redis, PostgreSQL, and modern API development.
  • Preferred: experience migrating monoliths to microservices, building AI-enabled products, operating enterprise SaaS platforms at scale, or working with React or Vue.js.
