Base Salary
$193k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build internal tooling for secure resource access, including wrappers, utilities, authentication services, and proxies.
- Implement detection and monitoring systems for high-signal vulnerabilities.
- Analyze security issues identified through threat modeling, penetration testing, security scans, and vulnerability disclosure.
- Partner with developers on sensitive code paths and educate them on secure design patterns.
- Work with customers on security and compliance needs and use their feedback to inform the security program.
- Communicate security risks and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Monitor emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices and recommend improvements.
- Partner with product engineering teams to build security features for customers.
- Ensure systems have appropriate authentication, authorization, and accounting with low internal overhead.
Requirements
- At least six years of professional experience in software engineering or security.
- Experience designing and building secure web applications, tools, and APIs.
- Experience with vulnerability review and analysis.
- Strong incident leadership and diligent response.
- Empathy toward teammates and customers.
- Strong ownership and ability to make pragmatic decisions.
- Detection engineering experience implementing and maintaining a SIEM is a plus.
- Experience with Go, TypeScript, Kubernetes, Postgres, Terraform, or Temporal is a plus.
- Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI compliance frameworks is a plus.
- Practical expertise exploiting common security vulnerabilities is a plus.
- Experience securing applications and systems through threat modeling and risk assessments is a plus.
- Security community participation through research, blogging, presentations, or other contributions is a plus.
