Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain Zuora product catalogs, rate plan charges, tiers, discounting, amendments, and proration behavior.
- Develop and maintain Zuora workflows and automations for billing runs, invoice generation, dunning, and operational processes.
- Use Zuora AI capabilities to accelerate configuration, troubleshooting, and workflow development while validating accuracy, security, and compliance.
- Design, build, and support integrations with systems such as Salesforce, SAP, data platforms, and middleware using Zuora APIs and event patterns.
- Create technical designs, estimates, and delivery plans and collaborate with Solution Architects and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Promote testing, peer reviews, environment hygiene, and operational readiness while mentoring junior colleagues.
- Troubleshoot complex billing issues across configuration, data, and integrations and implement sustainable fixes.
- Maintain technical documentation, solution notes, configuration rationale, runbooks, and support guides, using AI tools such as Copilot to improve drafts.
- Support data migration and cutover activities, including data mapping, load planning, reconciliation, and post-load validation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting Zuora Billing solutions in production.
- Strong knowledge of Zuora product catalogs, rate plan charges, subscriptions, amendments, proration, billing runs, invoicing, credit and debit memos, and finance or billing controls.
- Proficiency with Zuora APIs and data access, including REST APIs and Data Query, plus integration patterns with CRM, ERP, and middleware systems.
- Experience performing root cause analysis across configuration, data, and integration issues.
- Practical experience using Zuora AI, Zuora workflow AI, and Microsoft Copilot while validating outputs and protecting sensitive data.
- Experience creating technical documentation and operational runbooks.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills in a global, matrixed environment.
- Professional maturity and accountability in business-critical situations.
- Zuora certifications such as Zuora Billing Administrator or Zuora Billing Consultant are desirable.
- Experience with usage-based pricing, ramp deals, multi-entity and multi-currency models, mid-term upgrades, renewals, and high-volume billing operations is desirable.
- Experience with Zuora Revenue or RevPro and revenue recognition principles is desirable.
- Knowledge of tax, compliance, audit evidence, reconciliation, IT security, and architecture frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and TOGAF is desirable.
- Familiarity with agile delivery, CI/CD, or DevOps practices is desirable.
