Responsibilities
- Lead development of cloud-native applications across the Sypher development and run teams.
- Own agile commitments, delivery execution, and operational readiness against business outcomes.
- Design and implement CI/CD processes for delivering applications to production.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and engineering guidance.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Platform Engineering, internal technical teams, and third-party vendors.
- Design and implement solutions across geographic locations with consistent engineering execution.
- Resolve technical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Evaluate modern software development trends and maintain deep hands-on technical knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of system engineering experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 7+ years of skilled system engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of Java and Spring Boot experience building enterprise-grade services.
- Expertise designing and implementing cloud-native applications using microservices architecture.
- Experience building and rolling out SDKs, including API design, backward compatibility and versioning, documentation, release management, and consumer enablement.
- Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS and PCF.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and Cassandra, including schema design, performance, and transactional data access.
- Understanding of encryption, tokenization, and secure development practices for data in transit and at rest.
- Experience with observability, logging, and production monitoring tools such as Splunk and New Relic.
- Preferred experience supporting financial services or banking applications.
- Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Copilot, prompt engineering, and agentic AI.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder-influence skills.
