$170k - $339k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of low-latency, high-throughput IPC middleware and runtime execution engines for onboard systems.
- Own build infrastructure, toolchains, compiler execution strategies, and distributed build caching to improve developer velocity and deployment pipelines.
- Architect deterministic simulation platforms and automated post-mortem diagnostic tooling for crash triage, core-dump analysis, and fault isolation.
- Drive performance profiling, memory optimization, and latency reduction across autonomous-driving software running on embedded hardware.
- Provide infrastructure domain expertise and guide onboard teams toward efficient, scalable, flexible, and reliable software designs.
- Improve internal development tools, diagnostic systems, and engineering workflows while controlling system complexity and runtime instability.
- Mentor engineers, establish engineering standards, lead technical design reviews, and define foundational architecture guidelines across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 6–10+ years of software engineering experience designing, architecting, and maintaining complex real-time systems, Linux systems infrastructure, or autonomous-driving platforms in C++.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, system architecture experience, and success driving complex multi-team initiatives from inception through production deployment.
- Expert understanding of C++, system programming, multithreading, concurrency models, and low-latency IPC or middleware architectures.
- Deep knowledge of compiler internals including Clang, GCC, and LLVM; build systems including Bazel and CMake; and compilation optimization tools such as ccatch.
- Ability to debug system-level faults, kernel and user-space crashes, memory corruption, and race conditions.
- Preferred experience with simulation execution platforms such as ezsim, evaluation frameworks, crash-triage pipelines, robotics or autonomous driving, embedded systems, cross-compilation, QNX, Linux RT, NVIDIA Orin, hardware acceleration, eBPF, gperf, custom memory allocators, IPC protocols, developer productivity tools, quantitative software evaluation metrics, and root-cause analysis.
Benefits
- Full-time position with bonus, equity, and benefits in addition to base salary.
- Annual base salary range of $169,783–$338,694, with pay determined by location, skills, experience, and education or training.
About DiDi
DiDi is a mobility technology platform offering app-based ride hailing, taxi hailing, shared mobility, food delivery, and intra-city freight to consumers and businesses across Asia Pacific, Latin America, and other markets. It connects riders with drivers and couriers and provides vehicle, energy, and insurance-related services, earning transaction commissions and service fees. DiDi launched an autonomous driving unit in 2016, which became the independent DiDi Autonomous Driving in 2019 to develop Level 4 technology for its network.
