Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain highly available Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters across environments.
- Monitor cluster health and workload performance, respond to incidents, and resolve networking, performance, and system-level failures.
- Automate deployment, scaling, cluster management, and operational processes.
- Optimize compute, memory, storage, performance, and cost utilization for containerized workloads.
- Implement security, access controls, compliance requirements, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations.
- Design and manage persistent storage solutions, CSI drivers, and stateful workload architectures.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps deployment workflows.
- Administer container registries, including image lifecycle management, access control, vulnerability scanning, and secure distribution.
- Evaluate emerging Kubernetes technologies and patterns to improve platform operations.
- Lead technical initiatives, communicate with cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
- 15 years of full-time education and a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, APIs, control plane internals, and Docker or Podman.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and Kubernetes/OpenShift lifecycle management using infrastructure automation.
- Experience with networking concepts including CNI plugins, service connectivity, ingress configurations, and protocols.
- Expertise managing Kubernetes persistent storage, stateful workloads, and CSI-based storage.
- Proficiency with cluster security controls, RBAC, policy engines, CI/CD pipelines, and container registries.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and infrastructure management.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, technical leadership, and mentoring abilities.
