Base Salary
$230k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Solve difficult scaling, performance, and latency problems.
- Work with the engineering team to define tooling that improves shipping velocity.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and resolve critical production events.
- Work directly with customers and partners on latency and availability requirements.
- Influence and implement the next generation of database, real-time queue, and container orchestration infrastructure.
- Introduce and scale cloud-native engineering practices across the organization.
- Build Terraform abstractions that simplify the architecture and increase engineering velocity and ownership.
Requirements
- Experience managing Kubernetes clusters at scale in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Extensive experience shipping high-quality architectures for mission-critical systems with high availability, high load, and low latency.
- Experience with PostgreSQL at scale.
- Experience with large volumes of transaction data is preferred.
- Strong Python experience is preferred; Sphere’s core backend and data pipeline services use Python and Django.
- Passion for developer experience and exceptional attention to detail are preferred.
