Base Salary
$220k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and spearhead development of Luminai’s core platform.
- Develop languages and associated tooling, including DSLs, parsers, and compilers, for internal and external system abstractions.
- Architect and maintain distributed computing environments.
- Remove system bottlenecks and re-architect foundational abstractions to support scale.
- Lead core technical initiatives and establish high-quality codebase foundations.
- Define and scale experimentation, monitoring, reliability, and observability for production systems.
- Drive improvements to the core Luminai IDE and champion high-performance engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including spearheading zero-to-one engineering projects.
- Proven ability to ship high-quality code on challenging projects.
- Direct experience designing and implementing high-performance production systems and navigating architectural trade-offs.
- Experience or working familiarity with modern infrastructure technologies such as Kafka and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of parallel computing concepts and distributed systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work across the stack.
- A master’s or PhD in computer science from a top school, or equivalent experience, is a bonus.
- Knowledge of or interest in compilers, interpreters, and programming language design is a bonus.
- Prior experience managing or otherwise leading engineering teams is a bonus.
