Responsibilities
- Partner closely with development teams and product managers to architect and build highly available and secure features.
- Develop innovative methods to measure, monitor, and report on application and infrastructure health.
- Gain deep knowledge of the application stack.
- Improve the performance of micro-services and address scaling/performance issues.
- Manage capacity planning and management.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting Unix/Linux.
- Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, IPSec, GRE, and VPN.
- Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience managing large-scale web operations.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, SQL, and NoSQL datastores.
- Experience with cloud platforms like OpenStack, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SumoLogic, Grafana/Prometheus, and Elastic Stack.
- Knowledge of distributed systems is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a geo-distributed cross-functional team.
