Base Salary

$147k - $202k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Bring up and enable Wi‑Fi on the next-generation platform through the Android Wi‑Fi stack and validate it on bench and vehicle.
  • Own SoftAP hosting and connection setup, retry, timeout, and network-management behavior for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • Implement and manage IPv6 configuration, routing, iptables/firewall rules, country-code transitions, regulatory-domain behavior, channel selection, DFS, concurrent APs, and Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth coexistence.
  • Isolate, reproduce, analyze, and resolve driver- and firmware-level issues with Wi‑Fi silicon and module vendors using logs and OTA traces.
  • Lead Wi‑Fi Alliance, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto certification readiness and coordinate with authorized test labs.
  • Build wireless validation and automation for projection sessions, throughput/RVR, reboot and OTA cycling, and nightly test coverage.
  • Write design documentation, conduct reviews, mentor engineers, and lead technical work across platform, integration, infotainment, and certification teams.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of embedded software experience with substantial Wi‑Fi depth and experience taking Wi‑Fi features from bring-up through production.
  • Strong Android Wi‑Fi stack experience, including Wi‑Fi framework/APIs, wpa_supplicant, hostapd, and the vendor HAL boundary, or deep embedded Linux Wi‑Fi experience with the ability to learn Android quickly.
  • Strong C/C++ skills and working familiarity with Java/Kotlin at the Android framework layer.
  • Solid Linux networking fundamentals covering IPv6, routing, iptables/netfilter, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Solid 802.11 protocol knowledge, including 802.11n/ac/ax, AP and station operation, and WPA2/WPA3.
  • Proven wireless debugging skills using OTA sniffer captures, framework logs, and driver logs, including cross-stack issues that reach vendor driver or firmware code.
  • Experience collaborating with Wi‑Fi silicon or module vendors on issue resolution and feature enablement.
  • Clear written communication and ability to lead technical work across teams.
  • Preferred: wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, Qualcomm Wi‑Fi, Wi‑Fi Alliance certification, Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi coexistence, shared-antenna tuning, automotive or regulated embedded systems, or wireless test automation experience.
