C# Developer (Tools and Installers)
ThreatLockerResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications and internal tools using C# and .NET.
- Build and maintain MSI and EXE software installers using WiX, InstallShield, NSIS, or similar tools.
- Develop automation utilities for deployment, configuration, and diagnostics.
- Collaborate with DevOps and QA to improve build, release, and deployment pipelines.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure reliable upgrade and rollback mechanisms.
- Write maintainable, documented code; participate in code reviews; and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Optimize the performance and reliability of tools and installer processes.
- Work with product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Framework or .NET Core/5+.
- Experience building Windows desktop applications with WinForms, WPF, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience with installer technologies, preferably WiX or alternatively InstallShield or NSIS.
- Understanding of Windows OS, file systems, the registry, and services.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and independent-work skills.
- PowerShell or scripting, CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins, and packaging and deployment best practices are preferred.
- Preferred experience includes MSI customization, custom actions, upgrade strategies, installer security practices, networking or system administration, driver or low-level system integrations, virtualization or endpoint environments, and security-focused enterprise software tools.
