Base Salary
$180k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build frontend and backend SDKs, integration frameworks, connector templates, and developer tooling for partner API integrations.
- Define platform architecture, interfaces, API and SDK versioning, compatibility practices, and reusable connector patterns.
- Create sandbox environments, partner API simulators, automated contract tests, release checks, and onboarding workflows.
- Establish consistent retry, idempotency, fallback, monitoring, runbook, incident-response, and remediation practices for integrations.
- Evolve partner and partner-site data models to support finance and operations requirements and reduce partner-specific workarounds.
- Lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, measure integration and developer productivity outcomes, and improve the framework based on recurring issues.
- Work with partner engineers, Product, Commercial, Finance, and Operations to translate enterprise requirements into platform priorities and launch plans.
Requirements
- 7+ years building and operating production backend or distributed systems with architecture and delivery ownership across services and teams.
- Experience building developer platforms, SDKs, or internal tooling used by engineers to ship production software, ideally for external API integrations.
- Strong knowledge of API design, data modeling, asynchronous workflows, schema evolution, eventual consistency, and idempotent processing.
- Experience designing reusable integrations, automated integration testing, development environments, observability, on-call support, and incident investigation.
- Deep proficiency in Go, Python, or a comparable backend language, including experience building libraries, command-line tools, or developer workflows.
- Experience building or supporting frontend libraries, SDKs, or embedded customer experiences and understanding client-side integration, authentication, error handling, and usability.
- Ability to define architecture and engineering standards, communicate with external engineering teams, mentor engineers, and align technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to turn ambiguous business needs into practical technical plans and balance enterprise launch commitments with reusable platform investments.
- Experience using AI tools for implementation, testing, debugging, and review while maintaining correctness, security, and maintainability.
