Base Salary
$138k - $182k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure, stable, testable, scalable, and maintainable software for account access, authentication, identity, and verification journeys.
- Develop frontend applications and distributed backend systems and APIs using appropriate technologies and engineering best practices.
- Own parts of the product and technology, become a subject matter expert, and resolve complex problems at their root cause.
- Participate in design, scoping, prioritization, code reviews, planning, and support ticket reviews.
- Lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve team software and development processes.
- Make pragmatic implementation and architecture trade-offs while managing resource usage and minimizing unnecessary complexity.
- Estimate and deliver stories and tasks on schedule while keeping software understandable and maintainable.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related software engineering field, or 4+ years of relevant work experience, preferred.
- Deep experience with web libraries and frameworks such as React and TypeScript.
- Strong experience building distributed, highly scalable, and highly available backend systems and APIs with Java, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with full stacks, single-page applications, and/or micro frontends.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies, preferably AWS.
- Understanding of containers, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code, including Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, and/or Terraform.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms, operational excellence, testing concepts, test tools, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude AI, or Microsoft Copilot.
- Preferred experience with native iOS or Android development, Swift, Kotlin, React Native, experimentation, or product analytics tools such as Amplitude.
- Ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, communicate effectively, demonstrate ownership, and make pragmatic decisions.
