Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, release, and monitor software applications and modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and Solution Architects to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Develop Java backend and frontend/full-stack functionality using the stated technology stack.
- Conduct pull-request reviews and deliver code that follows Julius Baer engineering guidelines and standards.
- Participate in internal Software Engineering communities by sharing knowledge and supporting peers.
- Apply automated testing and quality-assurance practices, including Test-Driven Development and Behavior-Driven Development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent proven working experience.
- At least seven years of Java development experience and at least three years of frontend or full-stack development experience.
- Experience with Spring Boot, service-oriented architecture, RESTful services, SQL and Oracle, React or Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, Kubernetes/PKS, Kafka, Avro, OpenAPI, and UML.
- Solid understanding of client pricing and core-banking systems.
- Proven delivery experience with Test-Driven Development, Behavior-Driven Development, automated testing, and quality-assurance practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment concepts.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and cross-cultural stakeholder-engagement skills.
- English proficiency at C1 level with fluent business proficiency.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or similar is a plus.
