Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end development lifecycle of production machine learning products, from problem framing and prototyping through deployment and monitoring.
- Architect and optimize data pipelines and ML systems integrated with enterprise data platforms and sources such as PLM, ERP, AX, SAP, and o9.
- Drive MLOps practices including model monitoring, CI/CD for ML, and automated retraining pipelines.
- Define KPIs, monitor production model behavior, and implement improvements to accuracy, efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate business goals into ML solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish standards for code quality, system design, ML development, documentation, and engineering practices.
- Evaluate emerging ML and AI methods, including generative AI, computer vision, forecasting, and optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field; a PhD is preferred.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or applied ML roles.
- Demonstrated experience deploying machine learning models at scale in production environments.
- Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and applied machine learning.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Spark MLlib.
- Expertise with large-scale data systems such as Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, and Hadoop.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and distributed databases.
- Understanding of system architecture, scaling, MLOps, monitoring, and fault tolerance.
- Hands-on experience with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, retail, merchandising, e-commerce, or finance analytics is strongly preferred.
- Experience connecting operational cost data with commercial or financial outcomes is preferred.
- Fluent professional English and the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and business audiences are required.
