Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and drive scalable, fault-tolerant system development across Eats Engineering.
- Develop technical strategy, roadmaps, architecture plans, and design-pattern standards with senior leadership and product owners.
- Lead mission-critical cross-team initiatives and solve complex business problems.
- Build, simplify, and improve highly available applications and platforms, including hands-on coding and architecture work.
- Identify and resolve critical system issues and define system and operational metrics.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop senior engineers and engineering teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience building B2C-scale products, preferably with Java and AWS.
- 7+ years of experience in technical leadership, including driving technical vision and execution at an organization or business-unit level.
- Hands-on expertise designing, building, and delivering scalable and highly available products and services.
- Strong experience with Java development, system and data architecture, distributed computing and storage, messaging services, caches, and performance tuning.
- Experience collaborating across globally distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and a data-driven, business-centric approach are preferred.
- E-commerce or food-delivery product development experience, ML platform and MLOps experience, and prompt engineering or agent framework experience are preferred.
