Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for safety-critical traffic surveillance systems.
- Develop tools and automation to improve software development and verification efficiency.
- Develop and verify DO-178C DAL B-compliant software.
- Execute unit, integration, and system-level testing for embedded applications.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and architects to translate requirements into scalable software solutions.
- Participate in peer reviews of requirements, architecture, design, and source code.
- Support certification activities, customer reviews, and regulatory audits.
- Analyze software defects, perform root-cause analysis, and drive timely resolution.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with DevOps teams and troubleshoot build, integration, and deployment issues.
- Drive improvements in software quality, engineering processes, and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related STEM discipline, or a related Ph.D. for the applicable experience path.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8 years with a master’s degree, or 6 years with a Ph.D.
- At least 10 years of embedded software development experience.
- At least 8 years of hands-on C++ and Python programming experience.
- At least 6 years developing software on Wind River VxWorks or a similar real-time operating system.
- At least 7 years of hardware/software integration and board-level debugging experience.
- Experience with Git, Visual Studio, VxWorks, and RapiTest.
- Strong understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation.
- Preferred experience with RTCA DO-178B/C, avionics systems, air-traffic surveillance products, requirements traceability and verification, and ARINC 429, ARINC 653, AFDX, CAN, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical decision-making skills.
