Base Salary
$173k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop backend applications for Salesforce Marketing, Commerce, Sales, Big Data, Service, Einstein, MuleSoft, Platform, Industries Clouds, Slack, and Heroku.
- Design, implement, and tune robust APIs and API framework features for scalable multi-tenant environments.
- Handle large data sets in cloud platforms and integrate internal and external systems.
- Build and ship production-grade software using testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Design systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows and maintain shared system context containing designs, constraints, and standards.
- Review human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Participate in the team on-call rotation to resolve complex operational issues and maintain service availability.
Requirements
- A related technical degree is required.
- At least 3 years of backend software development experience is required.
- Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, Go, C#, Ruby, Scala, Python, Node.js, or JavaScript.
- Broad knowledge of API-related web standards and experience with Spring, gRPC, REST, and HTTP.
- Experience with AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, or similar development tools.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to create precise prompts and reliable system context.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and participation in on-call operations.
- Big Data roles may require experience with Phoenix, HBase, MapReduce, Yarn, Kafka, Spark, Hive, Presto, or equivalent distributed-systems technologies.
