Base Salary
$141k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, tune, manage, test, and measure security detections across cloud platforms, enterprise tools, and vendor products.
- Lead security incident triage, containment, forensics, remediation, and post-incident reviews as a senior responder.
- Conduct proactive threat hunting across cloud, SaaS, identity, and on-premises infrastructure.
- Design automation and SOAR playbooks for alert enrichment, case management, vulnerability remediation, and reduced manual effort.
- Own security telemetry pipelines, including log-source onboarding, parser and schema quality, coverage analysis, and data quality.
- Partner with infrastructure, platform, and engineering teams to embed security operations requirements into services and cloud architecture.
- Participate in shared on-call rotations and improve runbooks, escalation paths, and alert quality.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in security operations, incident response, or detection engineering, including at least 2 years operating in a cloud-native environment at a senior level.
- Deep hands-on AWS security experience at scale, including IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, EC2, EKS, and Lambda in a multi-account organization.
- Familiarity with GCP or Azure is preferred.
- Strong SIEM proficiency, including building and tuning detections, writing complex queries, and managing log pipelines.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming or scripting languages, preferably Python, with the ability to build automation, integrations, and SOAR playbooks.
- Seasoned incident response experience, including communication with technical and executive audiences and leadership without formal authority.
- Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, cloud-specific attack paths, and attacker tradecraft.
- Experience influencing engineering roadmaps, negotiating with vendors, and representing security operations in cross-functional forums.
- Familiarity with PCI, NIST, ISO, and SOX compliance frameworks and experience assisting with audits.
- Strong problem-solving skills, independence, multitasking ability, and pragmatic judgment.
