Base Salary
$129k - $182k/yr
Responsibilities
- Configure and manage CDN configurations across the Disney Distribution Mesh.
- Manage global OpenCache deployments with internet service providers.
- Review caching infrastructure performance metrics and identify optimization opportunities.
- Review capacity and align distribution infrastructure with global distribution strategy.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Disney Distribution Mesh.
- Develop tooling and automation to integrate third-party CDNs into a unified control plane.
- Act as the operational contact for CDN support and manage incidents with CDN support teams.
- Tune caching configurations and troubleshoot caching issues with operations and engineering teams.
- Provide caching-solution consultation to internal stakeholders.
- Provide senior tier-3 on-call evaluation, escalation, and support.
- Support product-driven initiatives and projects.
- Train and mentor team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing caching solutions.
- Understanding of streaming video protocols, including HLS, and their interaction with caching.
- Ability to perform network troubleshooting.
- Experience in a Content Distribution Network environment.
- Knowledge of video players and their impact on cache logic.
- Preferred experience with HTTP, DNS, and Internet architecture.
- Preferred experience with Varnish, NGINX, and HAProxy.
- Preferred experience with AWS and GCP cloud technologies.
- Preferred experience with Python or other scripting languages.
- Preferred experience with SSL certificates and TLS security protocols.
- Preferred experience with Ansible and AWX configuration management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for troubleshooting and debugging.
