Responsibilities
- Research, design, define, develop, test, document, and implement new applications and changes to existing applications.
- Install software packages and personal computer software and help ensure hardware and software operate efficiently.
- Analyze processing problems, collect and interpret data, and develop effective solutions with assistance from IT and business associates as needed.
- Consult with business associates about existing or proposed systems through written and oral communication.
- Participate in committee meetings for development and large-scale improvement projects.
- Provide production support and perform other assigned duties while following organizational policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate selection-criteria experience.
- Programming skills gained through college coursework or self-learning, with proficiency in languages required by the relevant business unit.
- Above-average aptitude for programming, logical problem-solving, mathematics, and analytical decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience identifying and defining problems, interpreting data, establishing facts, and developing solutions.
- Experience working effectively on teams, managing multiple deadlines, and completing projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills, including proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, diction, and spelling.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to perform extended computer work, prepare written correspondence and reports, and apply logical reasoning to define problems and draw conclusions.
