Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and execution for a portfolio of cross-cutting Marketplace Fulfilment Services.
- Lead end-to-end architecture and system design spanning APIs, user interfaces, data models, distributed systems, and operational concerns.
- Define reference architectures, design patterns, implementation guardrails, RFCs, and architecture decision records.
- Write, test, deploy, and operate production-grade software through the full software development lifecycle.
- Solve complex performance, reliability, scalability, and distributed-systems problems.
- Lead technical investigations for P0/P1 incidents, own root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Define non-functional requirements, improve observability, and create runbooks and operational playbooks.
- Build AI-native platform capabilities and identify automation opportunities using AI-augmented engineering workflows.
- Raise engineering standards through code reviews, design feedback, technical talks, pairing, and written guidance.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to translate technical constraints and product goals into sound strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 6 years of software engineering or related experience; or 8 years of software engineering or related experience.
- Preferred master’s degree in a relevant computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related field plus 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
- World-class expertise in distributed systems, API design, platform engineering, architecture, and large-scale production services.
- Experience designing resilient, observable, scalable systems and handling complex production incidents.
- Proficiency with GitHub Copilot, Wibey, and LLM-based tooling in daily engineering workflows.
- Experience evaluating or integrating AI/ML capabilities and building AI-assisted platform features.
- Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
