Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop, review, debug, and maintain secure, high-quality production code.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, testing, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and responsible AI-assisted development.
- Design and build scalable, secure, reliable, and resilient solutions using modern architectural patterns and zero-downtime release approaches.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Investigate and resolve issues promptly and prevent recurrence.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide software development lifecycle frameworks, tools, and practices.
- Coach senior engineers and leads on compliant AI-assisted engineering usage and controls.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Proficiency with backend technologies such as Python, Flask, or Django, including microservices-based application development.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, distributed systems, web technologies, WebSockets, and JSON.
- Hands-on experience designing scalable applications with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with automation, continuous delivery, software development lifecycle practices, application resiliency, and security.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with minimal supervision and practical cloud-native experience.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred qualifications include banking experience and strong presentation, negotiation, mentoring, stakeholder-management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
