Base Salary

$131k - $183k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools and infrastructure to design, build, deploy, and support spacecraft simulation systems.
  • Develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for multi-vehicle simulations using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA’s TRICK framework.
  • Collaborate with GN&C, subsystem, and spacecraft systems engineers on low- and high-fidelity plant models.
  • Develop and execute simulations and tools for functionality verification.
  • Interact with engineers across disciplines to validate models and support software delivery, deployment, and support.
  • Develop software for software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing and maintain simulation models for plant physics, sensors, and actuators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related listed field.
  • At least five years of software development and debugging experience, particularly with C/C++, MATLAB, and Simulink.
  • Experience auto-coding Simulink to C++.
  • Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and first-principles physics-based mathematical models.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, continuous integration pipelines such as GitLab, and Git configuration management.
  • Preferred: master’s or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Preferred: software/hardware boundary debugging, software verification, SIL/HIL testing, large-data software, aerospace simulation verification and validation, and aerospace systems familiarity.
  • Preferred: experience with GitLab, Bash, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, Ansible, and using AI to augment workflows.
  • Must meet the stated U.S. citizenship, nationality, permanent-residency, refugee, or asylum-status requirement.
