Responsibilities
- Define technical vision, multi-year roadmaps, architectural patterns, and engineering standards for AI-native and cloud-native systems.
- Lead development of AI platform infrastructure, evaluation frameworks, monitoring, observability, testing infrastructure, security guardrails, and deployment capabilities.
- Design distributed systems, data platforms, embedding systems, retrieval pipelines, and large-scale ServiceNow integrations.
- Drive architectural decisions involving performance, cost, scalability, reliability, model quality, developer experience, and business value.
- Mentor senior engineers, engineering managers, and technical leaders while leading technical hiring, design reviews, and engineering culture initiatives.
- Lead complex technical initiatives, critical incident response, root cause analysis, customer-critical troubleshooting, and strategic customer discussions.
- Guide ServiceNow platform architecture, custom-development trade-offs, advanced integrations, platform upgrades, and compatibility with platform evolution.
- Communicate technical strategy to executives, product leaders, engineers, customers, and partners, and contribute to due diligence and industry engagement.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software development experience with a bachelor's degree, 8+ years with a master's degree, 5+ years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience with cloud-native and AI-native systems or equivalent senior-level roles.
- 5+ years of experience with LLM/AI systems at scale, including prompt engineering, agent design, retrieval systems, and production AI/ML services.
- 5+ years building and scaling systems with third-party AI/ML services and platform APIs across multiple cloud providers.
- 3+ years designing and building applications on PaaS or SaaS platforms, with deep ServiceNow platform expertise at scale.
- Expert proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript/GlideScript, ServiceNow scripting, APIs, and platform architecture.
- Expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, large-scale systems, data pipelines, embedding systems, vector databases, LLM orchestration, RAG, and retrieval optimization.
- Deep expertise with AWS, GCP, Azure, managed AI services, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Experience building AI/ML evaluation frameworks, metrics systems, production monitoring, secure coding practices, responsible AI, and compliance mechanisms.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives, shape platform strategy and roadmaps, mentor technical leaders, engage customers, and demonstrate significant technical accomplishments.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree and AI/ML research or publications are preferred.
- Active participation in engineering and AI/ML communities through conferences, publications, open source, or similar activities is preferred.
