Base Salary
$148k - $217k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services for device connectivity and telemetry ingest.
- Utilize AI tools to enhance development workflows and increase delivery velocity.
- Define and codify AI-native engineering practices for the Devices Cloud team.
- Collaborate with firmware, mobile, and product teams to define APIs and workflows.
- Build and manage data pipelines for high-throughput telemetry streams.
- Deliver scalable microservices on AWS and ensure observability and reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotation and live incident response.
- Write clean, testable code and contribute to CI/CD automation.
- Mentor teammates and promote AI-native engineering culture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building and operating backend services in Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs as a development partner.
- Deep understanding of agentic workflows and prompt engineering.
- Proven track record of using AI tools to enhance development output.
- Strong experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Solid skills in cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Experience with databases, caching, and event/streaming systems.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and articulate technical tradeoffs.
- A drive to define AI-native practices for hardware-connected systems.
