Responsibilities
- Shape platform standardization, simplification, application rewrite, decommissioning, and run-the-bank efficiency initiatives.
- Define and own reference architectures, technical designs, roadmaps, and golden paths for onboarding workloads to Kubernetes-as-a-Service.
- Establish reusable engineering patterns, components, and reference implementations to improve delivery speed and consistency.
- Set technical direction for Kubernetes-as-a-Service and related hosting products while removing architectural constraints across teams.
- Create enforceable engineering guardrails, including secure-by-default templates, policy-as-code, and automated compliance evidence.
- Act as the senior technical authority for early product onboarding and govern production readiness.
- Partner with developer platform teams to improve developer experience through standard interfaces, tooling, and patterns.
Requirements
- Significant experience operating as a Principal Engineer or senior technical authority in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Hands-on platform engineering experience delivering shared services used by multiple product and application teams.
- Deep Kubernetes and container-platform expertise, including multi-tenant design, cluster operations, security controls, and reliability considerations.
- Experience establishing production readiness across resilience, observability, security, performance, and operability.
- Experience guiding MVP onboarding or early-lifecycle platform adoption toward sustainable solutions and reduced rework.
- Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions that balance target architecture with execution realities.
- Ability to influence across organizational boundaries and manage complex dependencies and senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Experience partnering with developer platform teams to improve developer experience through standard interfaces, tooling, and patterns.
