Responsibilities
- Mentor engineers on testing practices, test-driven development, and test design.
- Define and own unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing strategies for the squad.
- Build production-grade test automation, testing tools, and test scripts.
- Track coverage, flakiness, test times, defect rates, and other quality signals to prioritize improvements.
- Use AI to generate tests, identify coverage gaps and edge cases, detect flaky tests, and accelerate testing.
- Improve testability and shift quality earlier in the development lifecycle.
- Lead quality initiatives and drive testing-practice improvements across the squad.
- Write clear documentation and runbooks.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience as a software engineer or SDET.
- Strong programming skills and experience writing production code and automated tests with Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, and RestAssured.
- Deep expertise in unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end test architecture.
- Experience with Jenkins pipelines and GitHub Actions for solution builds and deployments.
- Familiarity with Java/Spring, Angular/Flutter, AWS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Datadog, Postman, Bruno, and JMeter or similar technologies.
- Experience coaching engineers and changing team testing practices.
- Fluent Spanish and working knowledge of English for cross-team collaboration.
- Preferred: fintech, payments, or high-reliability systems experience; mobile testing with Flutter, iOS, Android, Maestro, or Patrol; performance and load testing; Pact or API testing; open-source testing contributions; or managing a Sauce Labs mobile device farm.
