Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Architect, implement, and harden high-concurrency APIs for participant management, with emphasis on error handling, fault tolerance, and data consistency.
- Deliver robust cloud-based solutions and partner with product managers, architects, infrastructure teams, and servicing stakeholders.
- Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Set standards for design, development, operational excellence, coding practices, and design patterns across teams.
- Mentor engineers, support professional development, and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
- Identify improvement opportunities, reduce technical debt, and enhance system performance through targeted refactoring.
- Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.
- Preferred: 3+ years with databases and database management systems, cloud technologies, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, Git-based version control, or cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred: 4+ years contributing to open source frameworks and creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs.
- Preferred: experience with AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, observability, distributed-system performance optimization, cross-functional engineering initiatives, and coding standards.
- Preferred: at least 1 year mentoring engineers and driving professional development within technical teams.
