Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Adyen’s distributed, high-performance financial products platform.
- Contribute to architectural design decisions and improve platform scalability, reliability, robustness, and security.
- Develop core financial data processes and finance infrastructure.
- Write performance-oriented database queries and design table structures.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and peers without managing them directly.
- Take ownership of projects, ship production code, review code, and collaborate across teams and time zones.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a software engineer working with object-oriented programming languages, particularly Java.
- Deep understanding of software architecture and architectural design decisions.
- Experience creating performant database queries and table structures.
- Experience mentoring developers and leading projects.
- Clear English communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, take ownership, and understand broader business and technical context.
