Base Salary
$179k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks with architects.
- Refactor systems, reduce technical debt, and improve performance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and influence long-term technology strategy.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 7+ years coding with multiple listed languages, database experience, cloud experience, open-source contributions, front-end framework experience, API development, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, AI coding tools, mentoring, observability, and large-scale technical leadership.

- Full-time annual salary ranges are $179,400-$204,700 in Chicago and $197,300-$225,100 in McLean; the role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation.
