Responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve the Azure Kubernetes platform for high availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, and Azure platform services throughout their lifecycle.
- Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code modules and automation using Terraform, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD GitOps practices.
- Support and onboard application teams by providing guidance on platform capabilities, architecture patterns, and integrations.
- Provide Level 3 support and troubleshoot complex Azure, Kubernetes, deployment, software, and infrastructure issues.
- Implement platform security controls including RBAC, secrets management, image scanning, vulnerability scanning, and compliance controls.
- Operate observability, monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting capabilities.
- Contribute to JavaScript/TypeScript software engineering, platform documentation, governance, change management, and access control processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external support teams to maintain platform stability and service continuity.
- Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Expertise with Microsoft Azure, including AKS, networking, storage, identity management, and cloud-native services.
- Experience administering Kubernetes, including cluster management, workload troubleshooting, scaling, upgrades, RBAC, and security.
- Experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, including reusable modules and infrastructure at scale.
- Experience with CI/CD and GitOps using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and modern deployment patterns.
- Knowledge of Docker, container image management, cloud networking, ingress controllers, DNS, load balancing, and network security.
- Experience with platform security, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, compliance controls, and secure-by-design practices.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems across cloud, platform, and application layers.
- Preferred: 5+ years in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: Azure Architect or Developer certifications and experience operating production Azure environments at scale.
