Base Salary
$165k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Evaluate emerging perception models and methods against representative sensor data and autonomy needs.
- Build prototypes and experiments to assess model strengths, limitations, and deployment opportunities.
- Combine learned and classical approaches for detection, tracking, geometric vision, and sensor fusion.
- Develop Python and C++ software and optimize perception capabilities for edge deployment.
- Integrate, verify, document, and deliver reusable perception capabilities in the Hivemind SDK.
- Support adoption of delivered capabilities by other teams.
Requirements
- PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or a related field, or an equivalent record of advanced research and hands-on engineering.
- Research depth in multimodal vision, visual foundation models, video understanding, open-vocabulary perception, embodied learning, or a related area.
- Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch or a comparable machine learning framework.
- Experience building substantial research software and interest in developing production-quality C++.
- Ability to design thoughtful experiments, evaluate data, and analyze model failures.
- Preferred experience includes research-to-production development, robotics, real sensors, temporal data, multi-sensor perception, vision-language models, vision-language-action models, embodied AI, C++, edge inference, ONNX, TensorRT, or CUDA.
- Recent PhD graduates and early-career researchers are encouraged to apply; applicants need not meet every preferred qualification or be expert C++ engineers.
