Responsibilities
- Develop and ship innovative machine-learning-driven product features for Apple Watch, home products, and new hardware.
- Build technologies supporting features such as DoubleTap, AssistiveTouch, Handwashing, and Raise to Speak.
- Work across the full ML development cycle, including data collection, model training and optimization, metrics definition, evaluation, failure analysis, and model deployment.
- Prototype ML experiences on-device and productize them for resource-constrained devices.
- Optimize and profile applications for performance and power consumption.
- Collaborate with research, product, and cross-functional teams across Apple.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Swift or Objective-C and experience developing on Apple platforms.
- Experience using Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow for predictive modeling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently or in small teams.
- Experience optimizing and profiling applications for performance and power consumption is preferred.
- Ability to work across the full ML development cycle and deploy models to resource-constrained devices is preferred.
