Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy large-scale secure and low-latency backend services and data pipelines for AWS hardware pricing, quoting, sourcing, and cost estimation.
- Lead ML and statistical modeling for cost estimation and forecasting from prototype through production, including accuracy monitoring and business guardrails.
- Build and evaluate agentic and LLM-powered workflows that automate quoting, sourcing, and vendor operations.
- Decompose complex supply-chain problems into straightforward technical solutions while managing system interdependencies.
- Partner with Finance, procurement, and vendor-facing teams to translate business needs into technical products and measurable impact.
- Define technical roadmaps, contribute to architecture and design reviews, maintain service health, share engineering practices, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the software development life cycle, including coding standards, architectures, code reviews, source control, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
- Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: 6+ years of full software development life-cycle experience.
- Preferred: master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience replacing manual effort with automation or ML and measuring the resulting impact.
- Preferred: experience building and productionizing ML or statistical models for prediction, forecasting, or estimation.
- Preferred: experience designing and shipping agentic or LLM-powered workflows, including tool-calling agents, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt design, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Preferred: experience integrating foundation models such as Amazon Bedrock into backend services and measuring quality or regression in non-deterministic systems.
- Preferred: experience building large-scale distributed backend services and data pipelines using event-driven architectures and batch or streaming processing.
