Base Salary
$167k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and optimize scalable network services and tools.
- Develop control-plane and data-plane software, APIs, and distributed systems for Network Products.
- Troubleshoot and improve product performance, monitoring, stability, reliability, and customer experience.
- Collaborate across Networking and other company teams to build products and API contracts.
- Support existing products and contribute solutions to technical pain points.
- Establish development and architecture best practices and improve tooling and delivery processes.
- Automate software delivery from development through scalable production operation.
- Mentor and help grow other engineers within the Networking organization.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a software architect and lead developer building scalable, real-time, distributed systems.
- Significant experience programming in Go and writing unit tests.
- Networking domain knowledge and willingness to deepen that expertise.
- Experience leading cross-team work to build API contracts.
- Experience with cloud development, containerization, and virtualization.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery.
- Some experience with data-plane programming using eBPF and XDP.
- Demonstrated improvements in stability, performance, and scalability for business-critical systems.
- Bonus experience using gRPC for robust distributed systems.
- Bonus experience developing firewall, DNS, or network monitoring systems.
- Working knowledge of Temporal and Kafka is a bonus.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or relevant equivalent experience.
