Base Salary
$168k - $221k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services and data pipelines supporting the end-to-end ML lifecycle in AWS SageMaker Unified Studio.
- Own platform features from ideation through delivery, deployment, operations, and business-impact measurement.
- Build data infrastructure using a governed medallion architecture for ingestion, transformation, anonymization, aggregation, quality checks, and lineage.
- Operate production platform services with 99.9% availability SLOs and participate in on-call and operational review processes.
- Create self-service tooling and automation to reduce manual work and accelerate onboarding of AI projects.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions, code reviews, technical direction, and mentoring.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or suitable industry experience.
- Strong SQL proficiency and familiarity with Python, Java, TypeScript, or Go.
- Deep expertise in data engineering, advanced data modeling, schema design, large-scale data processing, and strict data quality standards.
- Experience leading complex data initiatives end-to-end, from scoping and technical design through deployment, monitoring, and business delivery.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and AWS cloud services; experience with SageMaker, DataZone, Lake Formation, Glue, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Experience building and operating data pipelines or distributed data systems, including event-driven architectures and data lakes, is preferred.
- Experience with unit testing, code reviews, design documents, and deployment and operations for large-scale distributed systems.
