Responsibilities
- Develop native Android solutions for high-complexity problems using frameworks and design patterns.
- Assess requirements, recommend technical approaches, and conduct impact analysis for proposed system changes.
- Write, test, review, and maintain code while addressing non-functional requirements and coding standards.
- Use automated testing and conduct peer code reviews for Android applications.
- Advise product owners on product decisions and communicate technical solutions through presentations and documentation.
- Evaluate Android platform capabilities and recommend relevant improvements.
- Mentor junior developers in software engineering and Android best practices.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience developing native Android applications and 3 years of Java experience.
- Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming, Android application architecture, and software design patterns.
- Experience with Android libraries, RESTful service communication, JUnit, Robolectric, Espresso, and automated testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across requirements, architecture, and coding discussions.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent degree from an accredited university or college.
- Kotlin experience and knowledge of new and upcoming Android SDK components are preferred.
- Knowledge of MVVM, OAuth, OpenID, Android Keystore, and accessibility-focused development is preferred.
