Responsibilities

Build and ship AI features using PHP, MySQL, React, Node, and OpenAI API integration.
Extend Astro Core chatbot capabilities with read/write actions, graph generation, and analysis outputs.
Improve the external MCP connector schema, authentication, and capability surface.
Design, test, iterate, and document prompts as product artifacts.
Build token metering and usage tracking by feature, customer, and tier.
Implement guardrails, access controls, and rate limiting across the Astro AI platform.
Contribute to agent architecture decisions involving tool access, memory, token isolation, and training data boundaries.
Monitor production AI feature latency, cost, output quality, and failure modes and drive improvements.
Stay current with AI tooling and provide concrete recommendations.
Build React and Node frontend components that surface AI features and data visualizations.
Extend the production PHP codebase and design MySQL schemas, queries, and data models for AI feature state and usage tracking.
Develop the backend of the MCP layer using TypeScript.

Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic into production applications used by real customers.
Fluency with system prompts, few-shot examples, structured outputs, tool or function calling, and chain-of-thought patterns.
Understanding of token economics, context management, and model-selection tradeoffs.
Experience building AI quality evaluation and output-validation frameworks.
Awareness of hallucination, prompt injection, data leakage, and output inconsistency risks.
Experience with API rate limiting, consumption tracking, billing integration, or other metered usage systems.
Familiarity with designing MCP and understanding LLM-native integrations compared with traditional REST.
Ability to design multi-tenant access controls and reason about customer-tier behavior.
Understanding of tool registries, memory types, token pool management, and task delegation.
Experience with React, Node, PHP, MySQL, and TypeScript.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in consulting, digital transformation, enterprise software implementation, or AI-related projects.
Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, and automation concepts.
Strong presentation, communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Experience working directly with customers and senior business stakeholders.
