Base Salary
$103k - $111k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy machine learning models for commerce applications serving millions of users.
- Work with petabyte-scale data and advanced methods including LLM post-training, reinforcement learning, and model quantization.
- Research technical problems, understand how project components work, and create simple solutions to complex problems.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and maintain a strong commitment to quality.
Requirements
- Demonstrated passion for solving challenging problems with code through projects or independent hacking.
- Interest in continuous learning, research, and understanding complex systems.
- Strong ownership mindset and commitment to creating high-quality solutions.
- Must be legally entitled to work in the application location for the entire internship term.
- Must not be enrolled in school full-time while working at Shopify.
- Must be able to work full-time from the Bellevue or New York office for the internship.
Benefits
- Three-month, full-time, paid internship running May 24 or June 14 through August 27, 2027.
- US base pay of $103,000 to $111,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
- Monthly US allowance of $1,000 for internship support.
- In-office work in Bellevue, Washington, or New York City, with relocation required if not currently living in one of those cities.
- Interns must be located in their office city by onboarding and work from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- Interns cannot work from outside the country in which they were hired.
