Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive adoption, governance, and validation standards for AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Own architecture and solutioning for Trust & Security data and integration capabilities from concept through production.
- Design and implement reliable, scalable Kafka streaming solutions with ordering, idempotency, replay, dead-letter queues, and operational readiness.
- Define data contracts, schema registry strategy, schema evolution and compatibility practices, ownership, validation, and freshness and quality expectations.
- Build streaming and batch data publishing patterns for lake and analytical platforms with observability, data quality, lineage, metadata, and access controls.
- Lead solution engineering for Java services and pipelines.
- Architect Cassandra and Oracle data stores and integration patterns.
- Design REST and GraphQL service interfaces and integrations with API and error contracts, SLAs/SLOs, and backward-compatible changes.
- Establish reuse-first patterns and engineering standards across teams and coach engineers on compliant AI-assisted development.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced capability in one or more of Java, Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
- Experience combining data architecture and solution engineering in large-scale production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, lake or data-platform publishing, Cassandra, Oracle, Java services and pipelines, and streaming or processing components.
- Experience with schema registry, data contract design, and data governance.
- Experience building APIs and integrations with REST and GraphQL.
- Strong SDLC discipline including CI/CD, testing strategy, code review, production support, and observability.
- Ability to work independently with little to no oversight and demonstrate strong problem-solving and rapid learning.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred experience with Trust & Security domains, Kafka Streams, Flink, Spark Streaming, real-time enrichment and correlation, AI/ML concepts, feature stores, AWS, platform modernization, graph databases, and TigerGraph.
- Track record of setting engineering standards and driving reuse-first patterns without direct people management.
