Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable AI platforms supporting large language models for healthcare-specific language, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations.
- Build frameworks and pipelines that process structured and unstructured healthcare data, including FHIR, HL7, clinical notes, and claims data.
- Develop domain-specific AI architectures supporting clinical decision-making, revenue cycle management, and patient engagement.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for AI platform development within product teams.
- Mentor AI designers and engineers through code reviews, research guidance, and technical workshops.
- Drive internal knowledge sharing on AI trends, frameworks, and best practices.
- Implement model evaluation frameworks for accuracy, robustness, and fairness.
- Support compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare privacy and data security requirements.
- Partner with engineering teams to move research prototypes into production environments.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field and 10+ years of AI/ML platform development experience on cloud and on-premises environments.
- Alternatively, 15+ years of software engineering experience in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field with 10+ years building AI/ML platforms.
- Proficiency in Python, R, and modern machine learning libraries.
- Experience with generative AI, large language models, and transformer architectures.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and retrieval-augmented generation systems.
- Hands-on experience with autonomous AI agents and reasoning systems.
- Strong track record applying AI to healthcare or life sciences use cases.
- Strong background in cloud platforms, on-premises environments, and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
- Strong background in Kubernetes, Terraform, observability, logging, and scalable systems.
- Knowledge of knowledge graph databases and NoSQL/SQL databases is preferred.
- Ability to take architecture and design work from concept to production.
