Responsibilities
- Own the health, uptime, and successful operation of deployed imaging systems.
- Build and maintain modular, reliable, observable software services for edge-compute devices.
- Triage and resolve issues spanning software, firmware, networking, hardware, and system boundaries.
- Support field operators and non-technical users in diagnosing and resolving deployed-hardware issues.
- Represent the team as a technical subject matter expert during product, partner, and customer integrations.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and platform engineers to build and test complex functionality.
- Travel approximately 25% for field testing and customer integrations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience with meaningful production ownership after deployment.
- Deep proficiency in at least one of C++, TypeScript with Node.js/React, or Python, plus the ability to work across a second language.
- 3+ years working in Linux-based environments, including hands-on bare-metal hardware experience.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across networking, services, and hardware interactions with incomplete system visibility.
- Ability to ramp quickly into unfamiliar languages, tools, and deployment systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communication with non-technical field operators.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
- Preferred: experience with performance-sensitive, real-time, resource-constrained, edge, or embedded systems.
- Preferred: experience with gRPC or similar RPC frameworks, systemd service management, Linux observability, Nix or NixOS, fielded systems, imaging, EO/IR, ISR, or C2 systems.
