Responsibilities
- Define the automation vision, roadmap, architectural standards, and governance across multiple products and services.
- Design and oversee scalable, reusable UI, API, microservices, contract, and integration automation frameworks.
- Lead framework consolidation, standardization, tool evaluation, and automation ecosystem modernization.
- Mentor, coach, and upskill QA engineers across multiple locations and teams.
- Conduct technical reviews of test frameworks, test design, test architecture, and automation code.
- Champion observability, CI/CD quality gates, digital-first testing, shift-left quality, and continuous improvement.
- Define quality KPIs, metrics, measurement frameworks, quality strategies, risk-based test approaches, and acceptance criteria.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and support exploratory, end-to-end, and UAT testing.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of hands-on QA automation or test engineering experience.
- Proven experience leading automation strategy, frameworks, or quality engineering initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript-based automation.
- Expertise with WebdriverIO and/or Playwright.
- Strong experience testing distributed systems, microservices architectures, API communication flows, and event-driven platforms.
- Deep understanding of automation design patterns, scalable framework architecture, REST API testing, schema validation, and contract testing.
- Preferred experience with Node.js and familiarity with BDD practices and Cucumber.
- Proficiency with GitHub, GitHub Actions, pipelines, workflow orchestration, CI/CD quality gates, branching strategies, code reviews, and pull-request quality standards.
- Experience integrating test frameworks with cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Ability to write and interpret SQL queries and working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and the DOM.
- Comfort working in Agile/Scrum environments with strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional influence.
- Nice-to-have experience with AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, k6, Gatling, and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility testing.
