Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend systems and APIs that process data across thousands of travel partners and support hundreds of millions of searches per day.
- Lead mission-critical software projects and contribute to product objectives with a cross-functional Agile team.
- Develop low-latency, high-throughput transactional services using Java.
- Use SQL to compose queries and analyze application data in real time.
- Work with Spring, web services, APIs, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Design and architect complex, highly scalable, performance-driven applications.
- Mentor and guide less experienced developers and influence engineering best practices.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- Six or more years of experience in software engineering and development.
- Exceptional Java coding experience.
- Strong SQL composition and data analysis skills.
- Experience with Spring Framework, web services, and APIs.
- Experience developing in the cloud, especially GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes, preferably GKE, and Docker.
- Proven ability to design and architect complex, highly scalable, performance-driven applications.
- Ability to understand codebases, systems, and business requirements and implement effective application changes.
- Interest in mentoring developers and influencing engineering best practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, integrity, and ethical judgment.
