Senior Engineer I, Software Test
Schneider ElectricResponsibilities
- Develop edge algorithms for microgrid hardware based on technical product backlogs.
- Ensure algorithms are consistent with cloud software and physical devices.
- Account for system use cases when creating algorithms.
- Develop and update component libraries for new devices and functionalities.
- Perform functional verification testing through simulation and validate hardware.
- Ensure algorithm compatibility with existing and planned platforms such as Automation Expert.
- Deliver associated documentation and training materials.
- Collaborate with architects, marketing, and internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least four years of experience in energy automation and electrical distribution.
- Expertise in industrial automation software, PLC programming, and SCADA.
- Knowledge of Schneider PLCs and tools is preferred.
- Expertise in industrial communication protocols, including Modbus TCP/IP.
- Programming experience in Structured Text and/or Ladder Logic in compliance with IEC 61131.
- Programming experience in IEC 61499 and Automation Expert is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and power management systems, including controls, power inverters, BESS, PV inverters, and gensets.
- Knowledge of software development tools including GitHub and Azure DevOps.
- Experience working in an Agile-Scrum environment.
- Interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, and the evolving energy landscape.
