Responsibilities
- Drive team goals and technical direction to improve organizational efficiency.
- Communicate complex features and systems in detail across functions.
- Assess industry and company-wide trends and develop new technologies.
- Partner with organizational leaders to improve team and organizational performance.
- Identify opportunities and influence staffing and prioritization decisions.
- Lead long-term technical direction and roadmaps for large cross-company efforts.
- Synthesize requirements and create effective feature roadmaps.
- Resolve performance and scalability issues and reduce technical debt.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience mentoring and influencing engineers across organizations.
- Experience using data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions.
- Experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutions.
- Experience driving large cross-functional or industry-wide engineering efforts.
- Proven ability to plan multi-year roadmaps connecting short-term projects to long-term goals.
- At least 12 years of relevant programming experience, or at least 8 years with a PhD.
- Preferred experience applying ML models to large-scale revenue or user-facing products.
- Preferred experience with Learning to Rank, Gradient Boosting Machines, Random Forests, Deep Learning, and similar algorithms.
- Preferred expertise in recommender systems, ranking, relevance, personalization, or adjacent ML fields.
- Preferred Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, including graph theory and optimization techniques.
- Ability to integrate AI tools into workflows and implement responsible, ethical AI practices.
- Ongoing AI skill development, including prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration.
