Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Create software architecture for real-time, fault-tolerant control of a 20kW+ spacecraft.
- Maintain a custom real-time Linux distribution for internally developed computers.
- Customize U-Boot to support secure boot, authenticity validation, and a robust rollback system.
- Curate device trees across multiple boards to enable hardware-specific features.
- Develop tools for rapid deployment of high-quality software.
- Perform data analysis and anomaly investigations to identify and resolve software bugs.
- Support spacecraft subsystem integration and testing.
- Build and maintain infrastructure that improves reliability during software development and testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or another STEM discipline, or 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Development experience in Rust, C, C++, Python, VHDL, and SystemVerilog.
- Fluency with Linux systems programming and driver development is preferred.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux image construction using Buildroot, Bitbake, or Yocto is preferred.
- Experience with hard real-time embedded systems, spacecraft flight software, software verification and testing, fault-tolerant software design, and performance analysis is preferred.
- Experience defining test systems for hardware-in-the-loop and hardware-out-of-the-loop is preferred.
- U.S. person status or eligibility for a federally issued export control license is required.
